About Us

David J. Meyers, DDS
Dr. David Meyers was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He and his wife, Jueanne, have been married for more than 25 years. They have six children: five boys and one girl. They have enjoyed the addition of a son-in-law and one grandchild.

Dr. Meyers earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University. He and his family moved to Seattle in 1991 to attend the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he graduated with a DDS degree in June 1995. Dr. Meyers keeps an active dental license in both Washington and Utah, and he is a member of the American Dental Association.

Dr. Meyers enjoys all aspects of dentistry. With six children of his own, he has a special ability to calm fears and work with young children. He has even been known to entertain them with silly songs while he works on their teeth.

Dr. Meyers stays active in his off-business time playing with his family, building furniture for his wife (or harps, or sets for whatever play she is currently directing for Rising Star Productions), and volunteering in his church. He is also active in the Boy Scouts of America. He and four of his five sons are Eagle Scouts, while the fifth son is well on his way. Dr. Meyers is currently volunteering as a Scoutmaster. His favorite form of relaxation is fishing, or when the weather is bad, and the season is right, watching college football.

Photography is another hobby Dr. Meyers enjoys. He particularly enjoys photographing birds and landscapes. When you come into the office, take note of the pictures on the walls. All of them were taken by Dr. Meyers.

Dr. Meyers believes the health of your teeth impacts much of your life. Your ability to eat, speak, smile, and enjoy life all depend on healthy, pain-free teeth. You will find Dr. Meyers to be friendly, patient, gentle, and down-to-earth. His dentistry skills are top-notch and he looks forward to helping you look and feel your best.

Candace James, Office Manager and Dental Assistant
Candace has been with Dr. Meyers since 1997. She became certified as a dental assistant in 1987 and  is registered in Washington State with the Department of Health. Working in the front office and in the clinical area allows her to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Candace is always seeking ways to improve her dental skills by taking at least 12 hours of continuing education each year along with the required health care CPR/First Aid/AED training. She also stays current on OSHA/WISHA/HIPPA training issues and the latest innovations in dentistry.

Candace is married and has two grown sons, Casey and Shaun, two beautiful daughters-in-law, Aaron and Shara, and three grandsons, Michael, Gavin, and Brett. She also has two horses, Spirit and Dusty, and a cat, Ellie. Her hobbies are riding horses, water tubing, and spending time with her family.

Mary Hoover, Dental Hygienist
Mary has a long-time interest in dentistry. She earned her dental assisting certificate in 1974 and her dental hygiene degree and license in 1984. She has worked with Dr. Meyers since he arrived in Longview in 1995.

Mary has been married to Jim Hoover since 1974. Their daughter, Kari, and son-in-law, John, serve in the US Army. Mary and her husband currently host two dogs and a cat who graciously allow them to live with them.

In addition to her work as a dental hygienist, Mary maintains the roses at the office (stop by and smell them!) and at the Longview Public Library. She is a rose judge and consulting rosarian for the American Rose Society. Mary likes to relax by riding her bicycle and knitting, although not usually at the same time.

Ann Thompson, Dental Assistant
Ann graduated from Concorde Career Institute in July of 2009. As a new professional to dentistry, she is enthusiastic about learning from Dr. Meyers and our staff and continually improving her dental skills. She is registered with the Washington State Department of Health.

Ann likes to spend her free time traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite place to travel is the beach. She also enjoys camping, swimming, and having fun in the sun.
