Hi, I'm Candace James, the office manager at Family Dentistry. I have been with this office almost as long as Dr. Meyers! I earned my certificate as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1988, and while most of my duties keep me up front in our office, I still enjoy the occasional chance to work in the back as an assistant.
I am always seeking ways to improve my skills and keep abreast of the current trends in dentistry. To help in this endeavor I complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education each year.
I am married to Rick James. We have two wonderful boys, Casey and Shaun.
I live in Clatskanie with my family. I love gardening, riding horses and reading. My husband and I enjoy treks to the beach and relaxing on our deck.
My name is Mary Hoover, and I am the dental hygienist in our office. I have always had an interest in dentistry, first earning my certificate in dental assisting in 1974 and then my license in dental hygiene in 1984. I have worked with Dr. Meyers since he arrived in Longview in 1995.
I am married to Jim Hoover. We have been married since 1974. We have one daughter, Kari, and a whole bunch of cats and dogs.
In addition to my duties as a hygienist, I also maintain the roses at our office, as well as at the Longview Public Library. I am a rose judge and a consulting rosarian through the American Rose Society.
Hi! My name is Julie Shipman and I am Dr. Meyers' dental assistant. I graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1993, was a cosmotologist for 8 years, and then started working for Dr. Meyers. I am currently working on earning my certification as a dental assistant.
I am married to a wonderful man named Buddy and we have two beautiful children, J.W. and Cassie. We also have an ever-growing assortment of pets which includes horses, dogs, cats and goats.
I enjoy horseback riding, animals, camping, traveling....just about anything that involves the great outdoors. My favorite way to relax is just spending time with my family and friends.
